Having first drafted by the Dallas Mavericks fifth overall in 2018, Trae Young was immediately traded to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for the rights to third overall pick Luka Doncic and a protected future first round pick.
Nicknamed “Ice Trae,” the two-time NBA All-Star point guard was part of the NBA All-Rookie First Team along with Luka Doncic in 2019. During the 2019/20 season, Young averaged at least 29 points and 9 assists per game, becoming the fifth player in NBA history to do so.
In the 2022/23 season, Young played 73 games with the Hawks. He averaged 26.2 points, with 3.0 rebounds, 10.2 assists and 1.1 steals per game. He shot 42.9% from the field, including 33.5% from deep.
