Ace Bailey played collegiate basketball as a guard for the Big Ten Conference's Rutgers Scarlet Knights in the 2024/25 season. He has made himself eligible for the 2025 NBA draft. Bailey was rated as a consensus five-star talent and one of the top players in the 2024 class. To play collegiate basketball at Rutgers, he declined offers from Ohio State, Kentucky, Kansas, Texas, and Oregon. During the early signing period, on November 12, 2023, Bailey signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Scarlet Knights.
Among his many honors are his inclusion on the Julius Erving Award Top 20 Preseason Watch List, the National Association of Basketball Coaches National Player of the Year Top-20 Watch List, and the Naismith National Player of the Year Top 50 Preseason Watchlist. Bailey first went to Boyd-Buchanan School while growing up in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He relocated to Powder Springs, Georgia, after his freshman year and started attending McEachern High School.
