Born on June 14, 2000, in Toronto, Canada, Rowan Alexander "RJ" Barrett Jr. is a Canadian professional basketball player who plays as a shooting guard or small forward for the Toronto Raptors. He is currently playing his fifth NBA season.

RJ Barrett attended Duke University, where he played college basketball for one season, and was named to the All-ACC First Team and the ACC All-Freshman Team. Barrett was selected by the New York Knicks as the third overall in the 2019 NBA draft. He made his NBA debut in October 2019 and became a key player for the Knicks in his three-year tenure with them. He was also named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 2020.

RJ Barrett is known for his scoring skills, particularly his driving and finishing at the rim. The Canadian guard represents his national team in the 2017 FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup and the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup. In 2024, RJ Barrett was traded by the Knicks to his hometown team, Toronto Raptors.
