Jonathan Allen plays defensive tackle for the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL. The Washington Redskins (now Washington Commanders ) drafted Allen in the first round of the 2017 NFL draft with their 17th pick. In the 2023 season, Allen started 16 games, and he recorded 5.5 sacks and 53 total tackles. In 2022, Allen recorded two sacks and 63 total tackles and was voted into his second consecutive Pro Bowl. In 2022, he was ranked 88th by his fellow players on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2022. Unfortunately, the two-time Pro Bowler tore his left pectoral muscle in week 6 and missed the remainder of the 2024 NFL season. After getting released by the Commanders, Allen was picked up by the Vikings.

Jonathan Allen's college career began at the University of Alabama. In 2016, Allen went on to win the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and Lombardi Award. Allen played in 7 games as a freshman in 2013 and had 15 total tackles. As a sophomore in 2014, he played in 14 games, during which he accumulated 33 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks. The 2015 National championship winner concluded his Alabama tenure by tallying 153 total tackles, 46 tackles for loss, and 28.5 sacks. Allen went to Stone Bridge High School for his primary education.
