Bobby Joseph Wagner is an American football linebacker for the Washington Commanders. The Seattle Seahawks drafted Wagner with the 47th pick in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He spent 10 seasons with the Seahawks before moving to Los Angeles to play with the Rams in 2022. However, after getting released by the Rams in late February 2023, he returned to the Seahawks for one more year. During his first stint with the Seahawks, Wagner led the league in combined tackles twice and also won Super Bowl XLVIII (2013). Additionally, he earned consecutive Pro Bowl selections from 2014 to 2021.
Wagner began his football journey at Colony High School in Ontario, California, where he began playing high school football for the Titans. He earned all-CIF Central Division recognition as well as all-Mount Baldy League achievements. As a senior, he led his team to a CIF division title and secured second-team California Division 2 all-state honors. Additionally, he earned a spot on the All-San Bernardino County team. Following high school, he enrolled at Utah State University and committed to playing collegiate football for the Utah State Aggies from 2008 to 2011. He concluded his collegiate career by tallying 445 total tackles, 29 tackles for loss, four interceptions, and 4.5 sacks in 48 games (via Sports Reference).
