Betnijah Laney-Hamilton is a basketball player who plays for the New York Liberty in the WNBA. She was born on 29 October 1993 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S. Hamilton started her basketball life at Smyrna High School in Delaware where she became the lead scorer in her senior year and averaged 23.7 points, 10 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.2 blocks and 4.4 steals, per game. For this performance, she made it to McDonald's All-American game. After school, she moved to college basketball at Rutgers University in 2011. As a freshman in college, she won the Big East All-Freshman Team selection.

In 2015 Laney-Hamilton was selected 17th overall in the 2nd round by the Chicago Sky in the WNBA draft. Her professional career geared up when she got the award of WNBA Most Improved Player in 2020 and in the same season, she also got WNBA All-Defensive First Team selection. In the following year, she made it to the All-Star game.
