Betnijah Laney-Hamilton is an American professional basketball player born on October 29, 1993, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. As of September 2024, she is a player with the New York Liberty. After being chosen 17th overall in the second round of the 2015 WNBA Draft, she started playing professionally for the Chicago Sky. In 33 games during her first season, Laney averaged 2.8 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. In her next season with the Chicago Sky, she played only 8 games due to a torn ligament in her left knee. Laney signed a contract with the Connecticut Sun, leaving her former team, the Chicago Sky, for the 2018 WNBA season. During the 2020 WNBA season, Laney played for the Atlanta Dream, participating in 34 games with averages of 5.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.

She was named to the WNBA All-Defensive Team and earned the Most Improved Player Award. In 2021, she signed with the New York Liberty. She has played a total of 81 games over three seasons with the Liberty, from the 2021 WNBA season through the 2023 WNBA season, scoring 1150 points and grabbing 292 rebounds. Laney committed to the Perth Lynx for the WNBL season of 2015–16. She helped her team reach the finals by playing 27 games and averaging 15.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. She also played for the Bendigo Spirit during the 2017-18 WNBL season. In 2019, she signed with Elitzur Holon. Laney represented Elitzur Ramla in the Israeli League from 2020 to 2022.

Betnijah Laney Hamilton's college was Rutgers University from 2011 to 2015. During her second season at Rutgers, she played 30 games, starting in 29 of them, scoring 290 points and recording 150 rebounds.

She achieved her best college stats in her final year at Rutgers, playing 32 games and scoring 505 points. Over her college career, she played a total of 129 games, averaging 10.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. In Betnijah Laney's college career, she was named to the First-team All-Big Ten in 2015 and earned Second-team All-AAC honors in 2014. She was also selected for the Big East All-Freshman Team in 2012 and recognized as a McDonald's All-American in 2011.
