9:46 PM local time, 8:16 AM IST | The rain has had the last laugh! Due to persistent rains and with flashes of lightning and roars of thunder, the umpires have deemed it impossible to have play today. Which means that Washington Freedom qualify for the Final by virtue of finishing at the top of the points table. Texas Super Kings will now play Qualifier 2 to try and reach the summit clash. The forecast is better for tomorrow, the day of the Eliminator. It will be San Francisco Unicorns up against MI New York. Join us again at 7:00 PM local time (5:30 AM IST) for the first ball of that contest. Till then, from Karthik Raj and Bidipto, it is good bye. Keep following Sportskeeda!
09:34 Local Time, 08:04 AM IST | The rain has stopped which is good news. But there is still a lot to work to do especially on the out-field for us to get some hope of a game.
Madhava royal: "Texas will win the final and the cup belongs to Texas." The question is, how do they reach the final? By winning this match, or the second Qualifier? If there is no play today, they have to play Qualifier 2 to make the cut.
9:01 PM local time, 7:31 AM IST | The rain hasn't stopped yet at Grand Prairie but the intensity of the rain has reduced. The players are inside, in their respective dressing rooms. A few of the fans are still here. We are hopeful of play though, because as we've mentioned, the cut-off time for a 5-over game is 10:26 PM local time (8:56 AM IST) and the cut-off time for a Super Over is 11:20 PM local time (9:50 AM IST).
This is the latest post from Texas Super Kings. They want the rain to go away!
8:00 PM local time, 6:30 AM IST | It is raining cats and dogs at the Grand Prairie Stadium right now! Thunder and lightning too is rolling along. It does not look good for now, that is for sure. The umpires can wait till 10:26 PM local time (8:56 AM IST) for a 5-over game. If even then the match cannot start, they can wait till 11:20 PM local time (9:50 AM IST) for a 1-over contest. But it cannot go any further than that. A no contest will mean Washington Freedom going through to the final.
7:44 PM local time, 6:14 AM IST | It is raining at the moment at Grand Prairie. The forecast is not the best either. So, it is time to keep our fingers crossed.
7:32 PM local time, 6:02 AM IST | It has been half-an-hour since the scheduled time of start but unfortunately, we have had no play. We are waiting to hear from the Grand Prairie Stadium about more. As of now, there is nothing new to report. But do stay with us, we will let you as and when we have some information.
Parth Agarwal: "Texas is a good team. All basics are covered. Favourite for this year's final." So Parth, who do you think joins them in the final?
pawan pandey: "Washington Freedom will win this match for sure!" Alright Pawan, let's see!
7:07 PM local time, 5:37 AM IST | This is the scenario at the Grand Prarie Stadium at the moment 👇.
6:59 PM local time, 5:29 AM IST | The pitch is under cover, because of a storm threat. But, we have just had a roll of thunder right now, even though there is no rain. However, we have a bit of a delay at the moment. Do stay with us, we will keep you posted.
Saurabh Netravalkar: "The idea will be to execute the plans and do whatever required to win this. This is a new phase of the game with higher stakes, so we want to take it one ball at a time. Batters have been having a good time here, but I think if you're clear with your plan an execute those, you should be fine as a bowler."

Donovon Ferreira: "New venue again, new pitch, so, it's about assessing the conditions and getting ready. Hopefully, I can contribute again. I don't really know how I have managed to take those catches, but thankfully, I have!"
Glenn Maxwell, Washington Freedom captain: "It's a fresh pitch. It has been under cover too, so we have a chance here to taking early wickets. Lockie Ferguson is back, which is great! Hopefully, from their point of view, it is a low score! Hope also that our bowlers bowl to the plans and keep them under check. Mark Chapman unfortunately misses out today."
Faf du Plessis, Texas Super Kings captain: "It looks a good surface to be fair, and in any case, it is lose the toss, bat first! So, we will take it accordingly and look to put on a score. Quite a few players at different times through the tournament have stepped up for us. We are going in with the same team from the last match."
