WWE SmackDown - Best and worst- Brand new feud begins, Big mistake with Roman Reigns, Babyfaces behave like heels 

Somehow the tables have turned after Survivor Series because much like RAW's Survivor Series team scored a clean sweep over WWE SmackDown, this week's episode of RAW, while far from perfect, was a much better show than WWE SmackDown too.

One has to assume that the creative staff of WWE was in a holiday mood because it just seemed like they phoned it in for this week's episode of WWE SmackDown because it was Thanksgiving week.

Maybe the viewership numbers are lower for holiday episodes, and that is why WWE chooses to not put in nearly as much effort into these episodes as they do for their regular shows.

So, there wasn't a lot to write about the 'Best' of WWE SmackDown this week, but one can just count the 'Worsts' by the dozen, quite honestly.

#1 Best: Big E and Sami Zayn could tear it up on WWE SmackDown for the Intercontinental Championship

No, Big E was not a part of the Survivor Series lineup at all, but the fact of the matter is that he was probably kept off the show because they did not want him to lose his sheen as the result of the clean sweep from Team RAW.

But all is good with Big E on WWE SmackDown and it is clear that he will be taking on Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship next. Or at least in a triple threat situation where Sami Zayn mixes it up with WWE SmackDown stars Big E and Daniel Bryan for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

If Big E does become the Intercontinental Champion, it will be a big step up for him and bring him one step closer to the Universal Championship.

#1 Worst: Why is Roman Reigns angry with Jey Uso on WWE SmackDown?

Nithin Joseph from Sportskeeda was the first person to bring this up on the official chat and then the rest of our writers chimed in. Why is Roman Reigns angry that Jey Uso interfered in the clash at Survivor Series when the two of them hugged once the match with Drew McIntyre was done and dusted?

If you do not put in the effort to make your show make sense, why should the audience invest two hours of their lives into watching a show that you have created? And this wasn't the only thing on WWE SmackDown that did not make sense either.

After the exchange that Kevin Owens had with Roman Reigns and Jey Uso in the backstage area, the main event match of WWE SmackDown was made official for the night. Is WWE implying that prior to this interaction there wasn't any main event match scheduled for their weekly show, in that particular spot?

And how did Dawkins say that Roode couldn't grow facial hair, even though Michael Cole made the save?

#2 Best: Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens will clash on WWE SmackDown for the Universal Championship

This topic deserves its own article, and one shall come your way an hour after this one goes up. WWE SmackDown Superstars Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens are likely to lock horns at WWE TLC and this is not a feud that anyone should have a problem with. We have seen Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns before, only Owens was a heel and Reigns a babyface.

Look, Roman Reigns is not going to lose his Universal Championship anytime soon, and so for him to take on Kevin Owens, someone who has an outside chance of becoming the Universal Champion but is likely to lose the feud, but not lose his overall position in the roster, sounds like a good deal.

Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns are both consummate professionals and the match quality will also be good between the two WWE SmackDown Superstars, but that's a given in the main event spot of WWE these days. There are absolutely no drawbacks when it comes to this particular feud.

#2 Worst: The Mysterio family starts behaving like a group of heels on WWE SmackDown against King Corbin

King Corbin came across as the babyface on this week's edition of WWE SmackDown as he faced the numbers of the Mysterio family in his match against Murphy. Murphy did pick up the win this week, but he would need some interference from a family that has adopted him as their own on WWE SmackDown. This was really a head-scratching decision from the Creative Team on WWE SmackDown and did nobody any real favors.

And while this may not be the most popular decision in the world, one really has to think that the King gimmick has overstayed its welcome on WWE SmackDown, and now it's necessary to change up Corbin's shtick or else, he's slowly becoming uninteresting.

Even if he does remain a heel even now, the cape, and the crown and the scepter have got to go! If this was the setup for a babyface turn, a lot more work needs to be done to get the crowd to root for Corbin.

#3 Best/Worst: Good matches on WWE SmackDown with underwhelming finishes

Of course, the Sami Zayn vs. Daniel Bryan match on WWE SmackDown was a pretty engrossing clash, and while it fed into the central thread of the night, which is Jey Uso snapping and making people fear him, the fact that he interfered in the outcome of the contest just makes it rather underwhelming, all said and done.

And why couldn't Bianca Belair, who is clearly getting a push on WWE SmackDown pick up a clean win this week against Natalya? Why did Bayley have to get involved in the match so that even Bianca Belair's big win was marred by this finish?

And the same can be said for the main event spot as well, even though the introduction of the chair is probably a way to build heat for a big 'chairs match' at TLC next month.
