What's the story?Former WWE Women's Champion Melina Perez revealed in a social media post that she felt suicidal after being raped. Her post was in response to a tweet by Josh Wolf regarding Matt Damon's controversial comments about sexual harassment in an interview. She revealed she had been harassed and raped in the past, and felt both offences made her feel equally helpless.Been raped, been grabbed, been cornered and told things that a guy wants to do to me even though I told him to stop. All unwanted. All made me feel helpless, uncomfortable & scared of what's going to happen next. Different levels but ALL WRONG regardless.— MELINA (@RealMelina) December 16, 2017In case you didn't know...Matt Damon has recently made the news for his controversial views about sexual misconduct, which he shared in an interview. In the light of the recent revelations about sexual harassment in Hollywood, Damon compared the different sexual violations and said that groping someone and rape or child molestation were vastly different. He mentioned both should be eradicated but expressed his views saying the punishment should not be same for both.Melina was successful in WWE, and during her time with the company was at the top of the Women's Division, winning the Women's Championship three times and the Diva's Title two times. The heart of the matterMelina then went on to post on Facebook, where she said that being raped had led her to feel suicidal. She went on to say though being groped had not had as extreme an effect on her, both the offences were life-altering. She mentioned how she had felt helpless because if she had said anything, she would not have been believed and might even have been called attention-seeking. She finally went on to say she was not pointing fingers but wanted to educate people on the subject."My worth, my purpose, my existence altered. If I say anything I'm a liar, exaggerating or looking for attention. So many suffer this helplessness in silence. Which I did for years."Granted being cornered to B harassed & being grabbed didnt lead me to want to commit suicide like rape did but all were life altering. All made me feel like I had no power, I wasn't safe, I had no value & I wasn't a human being. That I am simply a thing...https://t.co/Ew970hPIp1— MELINA (@RealMelina) December 17, 2017ReactionsWe love you Melina.
