The Seattle Storm were a bit late to hop on the Coldplay trend. During Tuesday's game against the Minnesota Lynx at Climate Pledge Arena, Storm legend Sue Bird and mascot, Doppler, recreated the viral moment between Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and chief people officer Kristin Cabot. Bird and Doppler played the role of the couple, with Bird's fiancée Megan Rapinoe sitting courtside.

A video uploaded by a fan in attendance showed Rapinoe being introduced to the crowd and receiving a round of applause. The camera then panned to the luxury suites, where Doppler and Bird were seen embracing. Doppler and Bird pretended to look for a place to hide, while Rapinoe played along by giving the camera a shocked expression.

The viral incident that took place at a Coldplay concert last month has been recreated multiple times in different venues, especially in the MLB.

Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe started dating after the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Bird won a gold medal with Team USA, while Rapinoe's USWNT was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Sweden in a penalty shootout.

They got engaged in October 2020.

Bird retired at the end of the 2022 WNBA season after spending her entire career with the Seattle Storm, and will be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame next month.

Rapinoe retired after the 2023 season. Her last international match was in the FIFA Women's World Cup, where she missed a penalty against Sweden in the Round of 16. Her pro career ended when she suffered a torn Achilles tendon as a member of the OL Reign.

The Storm welcomed the Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday night, with Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe in attendance. Seattle had homecourt advantage and was boosted by the fact that the Lynx were without their best player and MVP favorite Napheesa Collier due to a sprained ankle.
