Indiana Fever vs. Seattle Storm was one of the four games scheduled on Sunday. Two teams with similar records faced each other for the second time this season, with the Fever winning the first matchup.

The first quarter was a close one, ending with Indiana leading by one point 17-16. While Gabby Williams and Ezi Magbegor led the Storm with four points each, Natasha Howard and Sophie Cunningham led the Fever with six and five points.

The second quarter saw Indiana's starting lineup rise to the challenge to take a big lead. Aliyah Boston, Damiris Dantas and Aari McDonald made big contributions on the offensive end. By halftime, the Fever took a 42-34 advantage behind Cunningham’s 10 points and Howard’s 12. Seattle had no player in double digits.

The Storm cut the lead to four points in the third quarter, and they got it down to two points in the fourth quarter. Seattle rallied behind its star players, Nneka Ogwumike, Skyler Diggins and Gabby Williams, who ended the third quarter with 16, 13 and 12 points. However, the team could not get over the eight-point hump created by the end of the second quarter.

Indiana Fever vs. Seattle Storm game through four quarters

Sophie Cunningham and Natasha Howard led the Fever to a one-point lead in the first quarter. Both starters reached double-digits in less than 10 minutes, as they made all of their field goal attempts. Gabby Williams, Skyler Diggins and Nneka Ogwumike exchanged buckets, but could not outscore Indiana.

The Storm’s real struggle came in the second quarter, as their starters combined for only 12 points. Meanwhile, the Fever’s starters continued to put pressure on Seattle's defense, combining for 19 points, as Howard and Cunningham continued their scoring spree. They again led Indiana's scoring in the second period.

The Storm made a big push in the third quarter, outscoring the Fever by four, with contribution from all of their players. However, except for Howard and Cunningham, no Indiana player showed up.

Aliyah Boston highlighted the fourth quarter, scoring 10 of the Fever’s 20 points. Howard and Mitchell also scored four points each. Indiana won the game 78-74, led by Howard’s 21 points. Cunningham and Boston scored 17 and 16, while Ogwumike led Seattle with 16 points.
