4 nations Face-off Coaches

The 2025 4 Nations Face-Off is an international ice hockey tournament featuring NHL players representing Canada, Finland, Sweden, and the United States. The tournament is scheduled from February 12-20 and will be played at Montreal's Bell Centre and Boston's TD Garden. It follows round-robin play, where each team competes against the others once. The top two teams based on points will advance to a final to determine the champion as per Wikipedia.

The games will be played on NHL-sized rinks, sticking to NHL rules. Canada vs. Sweden will play against each other on February 12 at Bell Centre, Montreal, at 8:00 PM EST as per Hockey Canada. The following day, United States vs. Finland will face each other at Bell Centre, Montreal, at 8:00 PM EST. On February 15, Canada vs. Finland at TD Garden, Boston, 8:00 PM EST, February 17, United States vs. Sweden at TD Garden, Boston, 8:00 PM EST and on February 20 Championship Final at Bell Centre, Montreal, 8:00 PM EST.

4 Nation Face-off Coaches

Each team has a distinguished coaching staff to lead their squads in the tournament. Below are the names of each team's head coach along with assistant coaches.

Team Canada

  • Jon Cooper is named as the head coach of Team Canada. He is from Prince George, British Columbia, and is the head coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the NHL. He has led the Lightning to multiple Stanley Cup victories.

  • Assistant Coaches:

  • Bruce Cassidy

  • Originating from Ottawa, Ontario, Bruce Cassidy is the head coach of the Vegas Golden Knights. He guided the team to a Stanley Cup win in 2023 and was honored with the Jack Adams Award in 2020.

  • Peter DeBoer

  • Peter DeBoer is a native of Dunnville, Ontario, and serves as the head coach of the Dallas Stars. He has an extensive coaching background, including leading teams like the San Jose Sharks and New Jersey Devils to the Stanley Cup Finals.

  • Rick Tocchet

  • A native of Scarborough, Ontario, Rick Tocchet is the head coach of the Vancouver Canucks. He was awarded the Jack Adams Award for coaching excellence in the 2023-24 NHL season.

  • Misha Donskov

  • From London, Ontario, Misha Donskov is an assistant coach with the Dallas Stars. He has a rich history with Hockey Canada, contributing to multiple international successes.

Team USA

  • Head Coach: Mike Sullivan

  • Mike Sullivan, a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Pittsburgh Penguins, brings a wealth of experience to Team USA.

  • Assistant Coaches:

  • John Hynes

  • John Hynes has an extensive coaching experience, including head coaching roles in the NHL.

  • John Tortorella

  • A veteran coach with a Stanley Cup championship to his name.

  • David Quinn

  • David Quinn has a background in both collegiate and professional coaching.

Team Sweden

  • Head Coach: Sam Hallam

  • Sam Hallam has experience coaching the Swedish national team, leading them in various international competitions as per Elite Sports.

  • Assistant Coache

  • Daniel Alfredsson, a Hockey Hall of Famer and former Ottawa Senators captain, is now Team Sweden's assistant coach for the 2025 Four Nations Face-Off. Alfredsson won Olympic gold (2006) and silver (2014) for Sweden. He holds Ottawa's franchise records in goals, assists, and points.

Team Finland

  • Head Coach: Antti Pennanen

  • Antti Pennanen, a championship-winning coach, leads Team Finland in the 2025 Four Nations Face-Off. With a proven track record in Liiga and international hockey, he guided HPK to a Liiga title in 2019 and Finland’s juniors to World Junior gold.

  • Assistant Coache: Tuomo Ruutu: a former NHL forward and Olympic medalist is named as an assistant coach for Team Finland in the 2025 Four Nations Face-Off.
