He has the most Grand Slam titles in ATP history (24), with both Rafael Nadal (22) and Roger Federer (20) behind him. In 2016, he became the first-ever tennis player in the Open Era to hold all four major titles on three different surfaces. He is also the only ATP tennis player to have won all Masters 1000 Tournaments (Golden Career Masters) twice.

One of Djokovic's biggest accomplishments of his career was winning the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, defeating Carlos Alcaraz 7–6(3), 7–6(2). At the end of the 2024 season, he chose his former rival, Andy Murray, as his coach.
