Spanish professional tennis player Carlos Alcaraz has won the Grand Slam five times. Thanks to his father, he started playing tennis at the age of four. Countryman Juan Carlos Ferrero, who won the Roland Garros title and rose to the top of the world rankings shortly after Alcaraz's birth in 2003, serves as his coach.

Alcaraz is one of five athletes chosen for the 2022 TIME100 Next, which honors up-and-coming talent in a range of global professions. After rising from No. 491 to No. 141 in the Pepperstone ATP Rankings, he was crowned ATP Newcomer of the Year in 2020.

Carlos Alcaraz Titles Won

Carlos Alcaraz has won 22 singles titles as of August 2025. Alcaraz earned his first ATP 250 and ATP title in July after defeating Richard Gasquet in the Croatia Open Umag. He was the youngest winner of the ATP 250 since the formation of the division and the youngest ATP champion since Kei Nishikori in 2008.

He won his first major championship in 2022 when he defeated fifth seed Casper Ruud in four sets to win the US Open. At 19 years, 4 months, and 6 days, Alcaraz broke Lleyton Hewitt's record to become the youngest No. 1 in the history of the ATP Rankings and the second youngest overall, behind Lew Hoad.

In 2023, Alcaraz won his first Wimbledon title by defeating seven-time champion and four-time defending champion Novak Djokovic. The match lasted four hours and forty-two minutes. Since 2002, before he was even born, he has been the only man outside of the Big Four to win the Wimbledon singles championship.
