Trades all 32 NFL teams must explore before the 2021 training camp

NFL training camps are set to begin next month, and there are still some NFL teams with (gaping?) holes to fill. There were some big off-season moves and a couple of teams went all in on roster shuffles, but there's still some work left to be done before the season kicks off.

The odds of Aaron Rodgers and Deshaun Watson being traded before training camps begin are slim. Watson is still going through his legal battle and Rodgers hasn't spoken to Green Bay, period.

With NFL training camps opening soon, here are trades that the 32 NFL teams must explore as they look to tie up some loose ends..

NFL trades that should happen before training camp - AFC East

Buffalo Bills

Offer: 2022 second-round pick for Eagles TE Zach Ertz

Buffalo has scoured the earth for a talented tight end. Philadelphia has had a tough time finding a trade partner for Zach Ertz. It's the perfect match.

The Bills have all the right pieces around their young quarterback, but even so, there's one missing: a reliable tight end. Buffalo is in a Super Bowl-or-bust NFL season in 2021, and adding Zach Ertz improves their odds of making a trip to SoFi Stadium.

The Bills are not going to be the only team looking to make a last-second offer for Ertz. Carson Wentz has put in a word with Ertz to come join him in Indianapolis. Buffalo has the upper hand, though, because the Colts will not offer as valuable a draft pick as the Bills.

Miami Dolphins

Offer: 2022 third-round pick, 2023 second-round pick for Broncos RB Melvin Gordon III

Denver's been highly impressed with rookie running back Javonta Williams. They've parted ways with Philip Lindsay and could use more draft capital.

Meanwhile, Miami has been searching for a valid number one in their backfield who can run and catch the football. Melvin Gordon III will give Tua Tagovailoa another weapon both through the air and on the ground.

The Dolphins should make a relatively strong push towards Melvin Gordon III before or after training camp.

New England Patriots

Offer: 2023 fourth-round pick and Stephon Gilmore for 2022 second-round pick and Vikings WR Adam Thielen

New England is one reliable wide receiver away from being a lethal offense in 2021 and Adam Thielen is one of the most reliable wideouts in the red zone in the NFL.

Stephon Gilmore is holding out for more money and Bill Belichick is unlikely to wait much longer to make a move. This trade is great for both sides because the Vikings are getting a top corner, and the Patriots are getting a reliable receiver.

Adam Thielen will give either Cam Newton or Mac Jones a strong presence at wide receiver and some comfort when throwing the football.

New York Jets

Offer: 2022 third-round pick, 2023 second-round pick for Cardinals WR Christian Kirk

Boom-or-bust is the outlook for the second overall pick, Zach Wilson. The Jets did sign Corey Davis and drafted Elijah Moore. However, Wilson still needs one more piece to protect against being a bust.

It will take some work for the Jets to land Christian Kirk, though. The Cardinals are another team trying to surround their young quarterback with talent.

If the Jets can work their magic and land Christian Kirk, their wide receiver room will be filled with speed and serious threats.

NFL trades that should happen before training camp - AFC North

Baltimore Ravens

Offer: 2022 first-round pick, 2022 third-round pick, 2023 second-round pick for Saints WR Michael Thomas

Baltimore has made it a point to build a better wide receiving group around Lamar Jackson. Putting Michael Thomas into that receiving core should be borderline illegal, but it's something the Ravens should take a look at.

The Ravens run the football more than any other NFL team, but adding a wideout like Michael Thomas could change everything. It's not going to be easy to prise Michael Thomas away from New Orleans, though.

New Orleans will need a quarterback soon, and the three draft picks the Ravens have on offer could help solve that problem.

Cincinnati Bengals

Offer: 2022 second-round pick for Dallas Cowboys LB Leighton Vander Esch

Dallas declined to pick up the option on Leighton Vander Esch's contract this off-season, effectively making him available for a trade.

Cincinnati could use some help at linebacker and Vander Esch has shown flashes of great play during his time with the Cowboys.

Vander Esch was named to the 2018 NFL All-Rookie Team and was ranked 74th on the 2019 NFL Top 100 list. He has registered 177 solo tackles and two interceptions over the last three seasons.

The Bengals will be getting a productive 24-year-old linebacker that still has a lot of football left in him, provided they pull this off.

Cleveland Browns

Offer: Odell Beckham Jr. for 2022 first-round pick and 2023 second-round pick from Patriots

There have been reports that Odell Beckham Jr. is interested in playing with the New England Patriots. Cleveland has shown that it can survive without Beckham Jr. by making the playoffs and winning a playoff game.

New England missed out on the opportunity to land Julio Jones but trading for Odell Beckham Jr. will ease some of the heat breaks. Whether the Patriots start Cam Newton or Mac Jones, they will benefit from Odell moving to New England.

Cleveland, meanwhile, would receive excellent draft picks in return to continue to build for the future.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Offer: Eric Ebron for Cardinals' 2022 third-round pick

Eric Ebron has been less than impressive since being drafted tenth overall in the 2014 NFL draft.

Meanwhile, Arizona needs a reliable tight end. Ebron has shown glimpses of consistency over the last three seasons. His best season came with the Indianapolis Colts in 2018, when he caught 31 passes for 750 yards and 13 touchdowns.

NFL trades that should happen before training camp - AFC South

Houston Texans

Offer: 2022 fourth-round pick for Jaguars QB Gardner Minshew

Jacksonville decided to go quarterback with the number one overall pick, drafting Trevor Lawrence and securing their long-term future.

Gardner Minshew is now the odd man out in the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback room. With Houston dealing with its own issues at quarterback, Minshew could be a shrewd solution.

It's unlikely that the Texans will solve their problems with Watson this NFL off-season or during the NFL regular season. The legal issues are substantial enough to prevent that from happening.

Minshew offers the Texans an established starter for the 2021 NFL season, and if it works out, both sides would be happy.

Indianapolis Colts

Offer: 2022 third-round pick for Eagles TE Zach Ertz

Indianapolis has one thing on its side when it comes to acquiring Zach Ertz from Philadelphia: Carson Wentz and Ertz played together in Philly.

There have been talks between the Colts and Eagles for Ertz. Ultimately, it'll come down to the Bills and Colts for the top two landing spots.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Offer: Andrew Norwell for 2022 third-round pick from Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs have rebuilt their offensive line, and adding Andrew Norwell contributes to that process. Jacksonville is currently going through a rebuild under Urban Meyer, and the more draft picks they have, the better.

Will the Jacksonville Jaguars trade Norwell before they report to training camp on July 27? That's a question Urban Meyer and the front office have to answer.

If the price is right, Jacksonville will consider moving on from their veteran offensive lineman.

Tennessee Titans

Offer: 2022 third-round pick for Steelers TE Eric Ebron

Tennessee lost a massive piece of their offense during free agency. The Titans mitigated that loss by landing Julio Jones.

Eric Ebron could also be a nifty addition for the Tennessee Titans' offensive scheme. Ebron is better as a third or fourth option. He also brings the Titans a big body tight end who can thrive in a play-action game.

Tennessee could replace the loss of Jonnu Smith by adding Eric Ebron and complete their second successful trade this NFL off-season.

NFL trades that should happen before training camp - AFC West

Denver Broncos

Offer: 2022 first-round pick, 2023 first-round pick, 2023 second-round pick, Drew Lock for Seahawks QB Russell Wilson

With the Houston Texans and Green Bay Packers holding onto their franchise quarterbacks, the Broncos will need to pursue a different option.

Something is brewing in Seattle, but they're doing a phenomenal job covering it up. Offering two first-round picks, a second-round pick and Drew Lock could possibly lure Wilson away from Seattle.

Time will tell if the Broncos take the gamble and trade for Russell Wilson before training camp but if they do, it's going to be epic.

Kansas City Chiefs

Offer: 2023 second-round pick for Eagles OL Brandon Brooks

After releasing their top two offensive linemen this NFL offseason, the Kansas City Chiefs have done an exceptional job at replacing that duo.

Philadelphia made Brandon Brooks available during the 2021 NFL Draft but couldn't strike a deal. Kansas City has already traded for offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr.

Patrick Mahomes would benefit from the Chiefs acquiring another talented piece for their offensive line in Brandon Brooks.

Las Vegas Raiders

Offer: 2022 first-round pick, 2023 second-round pick for Vikings DL Danielle Hunter

The relationship between Danielle Hunter and the Minnesota Vikings is a little rocky heading into training camp.

Las Vegas has struggled to find even a glimmer of success this NFL offseason after tanking the draft. Adding Danielle Hunter would give Jon Gruden and the Raiders their first win which Gruden needs as the pressure mounts in Las Vegas.

Minnesota would receive a lot in return for Danielle Hunter, which they may need heading into the future.

Los Angeles Chargers

Offer: 2022 second-round pick, 2023 third-round pick for Cowboys LB Jaylon Smith

Jaylon Smith is the leader of the Dallas Cowboys defense, but at some point, all good things come to an end.

Dallas is rebuilding its defense, and Jaylon Smith may be a great asset, but he's replaceable. Los Angeles could benefit from adding Smith to their front seven.

With all the upgrades the Chargers made offensively, it'll be an even more significant boost to land Jaylon Smith in defense.

NFL trades that should happen before training camp - NFC East

Dallas Cowboys

Offer: Michael Gallup and 2022 second-round pick for Patriots CB Stephon Gilmore

Both the Patriots and Cowboys win in this trade. Dallas receives a veteran leader in its secondary and New England receives a breakout wide receiver.

Stephon Gilmore could help the Dallas Cowboys in multiple ways, primarily by mentoring the young corners and producing a better pass defense. Michael Gallup gives the Patriots a number one target for either Cam Newton or Mac Jones.

New England could receive the best of two worlds with Michael Gallup and a 2022 second-round pick.

New York Giants

Offer: 2023 fourth-round pick for Bears QB Nick Foles

Daniel Jones is entering a make-or-break season in 2021. The G-men have gone out and added a massive amount of talent on offense for Jones.

Nick Foles is currently behind both Andy Dalton and Justin Fields with the Bears. However, he could go to the Giants and move into the backup role. With the talent the Giants have on offense, Foles could lead this team into the NFL playoffs.

If Daniel Jones struggles, the Giants will not have to worry about a starting quarterback if they move to trade for Nick Foles.

Philadelphia Eagles

Offer: 2022 second-round pick, 2023 first-round pick for 49ers LB Fred Warner

Philadelphia is going through a rebuilding stage on both offense and defense.

Fred Warner is one of the best middle linebackers in the NFL today. Warner and the 49ers are working on an extension to keep him with the team. However, Philadelphia could slide in and make an offer to scupper that extension.

Philadelphia could use a young, talented middle linebacker to lead their defense into the future.

Washington Football Team

Offer: 2022 second-round pick, 2023 third-round pick for Browns RB Kareem Hunt

Washington hasn't boasted a successful running back since Adrian Peterson. Kareem Hunt would bring a different feel to Washington's offense in 2021.

Nick Chubb has already claimed his spot as the top running back in Cleveland. Kareem Hunt now has an opportunity to go to Washington and lead the way for the franchise's offense.

Adding Kareem Hunt opens up Washington's passing offense and adds another weapon for Ryan Fitzpatrick in 2021.

NFL trades that should happen before training camp - NFC North

Chicago Bears

Offer: Anthony Miller and 2022 second-round pick for Saints CB Marshon Lattimore

Marshon Lattimore is entering his final year with the New Orleans Saints in 2021 and is unlikely to re-sign. Chicago will need to offer more than a single draft pick for the big man. Anthony Miller will give the Saints another target for an offense with a brand new look at quarterback.

The Bears also lost their top cornerback, Kyle Fuller, because of salary cap issues this NFL offseason. Lattimore would be the best cornerback on the Bears' roster once he steps into the locker room.

If New Orleans wants to receive something for Marshon Lattimore, this deal would be great for both sides.

Detroit Lions

Offer: 2022 second-round pick, 2023 second-round pick for Dolphins WR Devante Parker

Detroit lost its top two targets from the 2020 NFL season in Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones. When the Lions traded Matthew Stafford to Los Angeles for Jared Goff, they knew that priority number one was protecting him.

The Lions secured their number one priority by drafting Penei Sewell in the 2021 NFL Draft. It's time for the Lions to take care of priority number two after acquiring Goff, which is finding more weapons to replace what they lost in Golladay and Jones.

Devante Parker doesn't fully recover what the Lions lost, but it does get them heading in the right direction with the NFL season around the corner.

Green Bay Packers

Offer: 2022 third-round pick for Bills WR Cole Beasley

Cole Beasley has caused a stir in recent weeks over his stance on receiving the vaccine. Since Buffalo is aiming to win a Super Bowl, the franchise cannot afford any distractions in that effort.

Green Bay wants Aaron Rodgers back, but he's still a holdout. Adding Cole Beasley could be a step towards reconciliation. Cole Beasley isn't Julio Jones, Odell Beckham Jr., or Michael Thomas, but he's a reliable NFL wideout.

Minnesota Vikings

Offer: Danielle Hunter for 2022 second-round pick, 2023 second-round pick, and Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith

Danielle Hunter and the Minnesota Vikings don't have the healthiest relationship at the moment.

New Orleans lost some firepower this offseason with Drew Brees retiring and Trey Hendricks signing with the Bengals. Hendricks leaving New Orleans leaves the Saints with a void to fill in their pass rush.

Danielle Hunter not only fills that void but upgrades the New Orleans Saints' pass rush heading into the 2021 NFL season.

NFL trades that should happen before training camp - NFC South

Atlanta Falcons

Offer: 2022 second-round pick for Chicago Bears WR Anthony Miller

Atlanta traded star wide receiver Julio Jones to the Tennessee Titans and has a gap in talent at wide receiver. Anthony Miller doesn't replace the production Jones brought to the table, but it's a start.

Chicago has considered trading Anthony Miller. His name has floated around trade rumors since the trade deadline. Adding Miller's speed would make the Falcons extremely dangerous with Russell Gage, Calvin Ridley and Anthony Miller. All three receivers have blazing speed.

The Falcons could get away with offering a third-round pick for Anthony Miller. Matt Ryan needs another weapon outside of Ridley, Gage and Pitts. It's worth sending a second-round selection for another deep threat wide receiver.

Carolina Panthers

Offer: 2023 second-round pick for Browns TE David Njoku

The Cleveland Browns and David Njoku are in an uncomfortable position. It's been a back-and-forth battle on whether he's being traded or staying put.

Carolina could use the uncertainty to its advantage when it comes to trading for Njoku. The Panthers are entering NFL training camp with Dan Arnold as the top tight end. Arnold caught 31 passes for 438 yards and four touchdowns in 2020.

Carolina could get more out of Sam Darnold with a tight end like Njoku. Cleveland doesn't exactly need Njoku's production, considering they have Austin Hooper and Harrison Bryant. It's a great trade and a reasonable offer.

New Orleans Saints

Offer: 2022 third-round pick for Ravens DL Calais Campbell

The New Orleans Saints lost their top pass rusher to free agency when Trey Hendricks decided to take his talents to Cincinnati.

Calais Campbell is a crafty veteran who's had a successful NFL career. Campbell has brought home the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year award and one NFL All-Pro selection.

The Saints have the potential to have Cameron Jordan and Calais Campbell coming off the edge pursuing quarterbacks in 2021.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Offer: 2022 second-round pick, 2023 first-round pick for Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr.

Tom Brady has expressed interest in playing with Odell Beckham Jr. Tampa Bay has a talented group of receivers, but adding Odell to the group would make it a borderline superteam.

Cleveland has shown that Odell is an essential piece on its team, but they can survive without him. Baker Mayfield appears to struggle when he has too many options at receiver. Cleveland could receive a considerable haul in return for Odell, which could improve their future.

Let's not forget that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have given Tom Brady everything he's wanted since day one.

NFL trades that should happen before training camp - NFC West

Arizona Cardinals

NFL: New England Patriots CB Stephon Gilmore

Offer: 2022 second-round pick, 2023 second-round pick for Patriots CB Stephon Gilmore

The Arizona Cardinals lost a key component of their defense to free agency. Patrick Peterson held down the Cardinals' secondary before heading to Minnesota this NFL off-season.

Arizona did sign veteran cornerback Malcolm Butler, but it isn't enough to fill the void.

Stephon Gilmore, meanwhile, is holding out for more money and Bill Belichick is hardly a patient man in the offseaosn.

The Cardinals need to be the first team on the phone with back-to-back second-round picks. From what's being said, the New England Patriots want a first-round selection for Gilmore. The longer he holds out, the more his value will go down for New England, and the Cardinals offering two second-rounders could do the trick.

Los Angeles Rams

Offer: 2023 second-round pick for Jacksonville Jaguars LB Myles Jack

Matthew Stafford's arrival in Los Angeles has upgraded the Rams' offense. Now the Rams have the opportunity to add more talent to their defense.

Myles Jack will bring extra solidity to the Rams' run and pass defense. He registered a PFF run-defense grade of 75.7 and a coverage grade of 65 in 2020. Jack has recorded 273 solo tackles, 6.5 sacks and three interceptions over the last five seasons with Jacksonville.

Los Angeles Rams will receive a 26-year-old linebacker with a lot of football left in him.

San Francisco 49ers

Offer: Jimmy Garoppolo for Washington's 2022 second-round pick and 2023 third-round pick

Since moving up for the third overall pick, the San Francisco 49ers have done everything they can to make sure Garoppolo feels comfortable.

Trey Lance is the future for the 49ers at quarterback while Washington put a bandaid on their quarterback situation with Ryan Fitzpatrick. Jimmy Garoppolo has proven talented enough to lead an offense to a Super Bowl. The math adds up.

Washington has a Super Bowl-worthy defense, and with Jimmy Garoppolo under center, their offense should do the job.

Seattle Seahawks

Offer: Russell Wilson for 2022 first-round pick, 2022 second-round pick, 2023 first-round pick, and Raiders QB Derek Carr

Russell Wilson has done everything in his capacity to bring success to Seattle. Wilson has remained firm in his commitment to the Seahawks this offseason. Behind the scenes, though, things could be heating up.

Derek Carr is heading into a make-or-break season in 2021. Las Vegas' patience with Carr is running thin. Jon Gruden has waited for a massive opportunity, and he would finally get one with Russell Wilson.

Trading for Wilson is a big move, but it's one that would help Gruden save his job, not to mention it would make the Raiders a force to be reckoned with in the NFL.
