Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill is in line to start in their Week 1 clash with the Indianapolis Colts.
Hill hurt his oblique during joint practices with the Bears in August, which kept him out of all three preseason games.
Last week, Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said Hill had recovered enough to play, calling it “good news” for Miami's offense. On Monday, he told reporters that Hill is on track to play in Sunday's season opener.

De’Von Achane will also practice on Monday ahead of their Week 1 clash. Achane has been dealing with a calf injury, but is expected to be fit for Sunday.
“I’ll be excited to see him. … He was having an unbelievable training camp,” McDaniel told reporters. “We’re still showing some of the stuff we were doing before he was out, so I think I’m expecting him to not miss a beat based on his tremendous offseason.
“I would envision him being available for Week 1. We’ve been very aggressive with treatment so there’s no setback. And that will be the focus, and if he doesn’t have any setbacks, he’ll be playing.”
Hill is the Dolphins' top weapon and has been reliable, missing only one game in his first three seasons with the team. He registered back-to-back 1,700-yard seasons following his arrival from the Chiefs, but his numbers dropped off last season after Tua Tagovailoa's injury.
For the first time since joining Miami in 2022, Hill will not be a team captain this season. Tagovailoa, Alec Ingold and Zach Sieler kept their captain roles, while Aaron Brewer, Jordyn Brooks and Bradley Chubb were new selections.
McDaniel said the vote was “more about the guys we picked and less about the guys we didn’t.” He also noted that the six chosen were “resounding vote-getters."
Tyreek Hill hinted at leaving Miami Dolphins
Tyreek Hill hinted that he wanted out of Miami after last season, following the Dolphins’ Week 18 loss to the Jets, which knocked them out of the playoffs. Hill pulled himself out of the second half and told reporters he couldn’t accept missing the postseason and wanted to play somewhere else.
He never requested a trade, but the comments caused a stir in the locker room. Tua Tagovailoa said Hill would need to “rebuild trust” with teammates, and the receiver agreed. He called the quarterback's words “needed,” adding that he was holding himself accountable.
Hill apologized and committed to staying with Miami in February. Dolphins coaches and general manager Chris Grier praised him for working hard in camp, being more engaged with teammates and “100 percent invested."
