Micah Parsons made his debut with the Green Bay Packers on Sunday against the defending NFC North champions, the Detroit Lions. The Packers entered the game with renewed expectations, more so after they landed Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys in a blockbuster deal that secured the linebacker/defensive end a four-year, $188 million deal.Parsons captured Jared Goff in the fourth quarter of the game, recording his first sack with the Packers. While his new fans and teammates celebrated with the fifth-year veteran, one of his former teammates lamented seeing Micah Parsons terrorize a quarterback with a different uniform. Trevon Diggs took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his feelings about that play."This can’t be real. Wake me up from the dream," Diggs tweeted.Parsons didn't enter the field until the Lions were on third down in the first quarter, but his impact was immediate, as he put pressure on Jared Goff, who threw the ball to Jahmyr Gibbs for a play that ended in a 2-yard loss for Detroit.Green Bay secured a 27-13 win over the Lions, despite having nearly 20 fewer plays than their opponents (65 to 47) and only 20 more total yards (266 to 246).The Packers played an excellent game and showed the rest of the NFL world that they will be a difficult opponent, especially with Parsons going after their quarterbacks.Revisiting Micah Parsons' performance against the Detroit LionsMicah Parsons' status for this game was up in the air until the final moments. He had been dealing with a back injury discovered after he joined the Packers, which put his availability in jeopardy at some point. Parsons ramped up his acclimation and made it to the game, making an undeniable impact on his team and his opponents. The pass rusher finished with one tackle, which happened to be a sack and a quarterback hit, to confirm that the Packers' defense will be dangerous, to say the least, this season.Patriots reporter Rob Demovsky notes that Parsons played 29 of 65 defensive snaps (45%), recorded the second-most pressures for the Packers (three, one less than Lucas Van Ness), which resulted in a 2-yard loss on a completion, an interception and a sack.If he stays on this trajectory, the Packers will only get better. Parsons looked comfortable in his first game with the "Cheese Heads," sending a strong message to the rest of teams that will clash with Green Bay.
