IMPACT Wrestling Results: AEW star blindsides Kenny Omega; More surprises hinted at for Homecoming

IMPACT Wrestling may have wrapped up Slammiversary a few weeks back, but we're already a few days away from the next IMPACT Plus special. With Homecoming taking place Saturday and a Homecoming tournament to crown a King and Queen, we had a lot to build to tonight.

Moose and Chris Sabin would face off in a Slammiversary rematch. They nearly stole the show then, and were given the main event slot tonight. We would also learn about the next contender for the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship.

All that, plus Jay White and Chris Bey in tag team action against The Good Brothers.

Mean Gia Miller found IMPACT Wrestling EVP Scott D'Amore backstage. Hearing that D'Amore had been "making big moves" in his office all day, she wanted to know what he had planned. Before he could blow the question off, Tommy Dreamer came in asking about a #1 contender for Kenny Omega. D'Amore left Dreamer to come up with a plan.

The Good Brothers vs Chris Bey and Jay White on IMPACT Wrestling

IWGP Never Openweight Champion Jay White made his IMPACT Wrestling in-ring debut tonight, and started things off with Karl Anderson. White ran over Anderson with a running elbow before tagging out to Chris Bey.

The former IMPACT Wrestling X-Division Champion hit a Bey-utiful dropkick on Anderson, but couldn't stop the tag to the Big LG. Doc Gallows hammered Bey with big left and right hands and dropped him with a stalling suplex.

The Machine Gun and Gallows took turns battering Bey while taunting the Bullet Club Leader. However, Bey got a chance to turn things around on the IMPACT Wrestling Tag Team Champions when he hit Gallows with a flying crossbody off the top.

Jay White tagged in and pelted a fresh Karl Anderson with chops. A DDT spiked Anderson and Gallows, and White turned the former upside down with a twisting suplex. Bey was tagged back in, but was nearly taken out with the Magic Killer. Jay White made the save, only to be knocked to the floor.

After countering the Art of Finesse with a chokesam, the Magic Killer finally drove Bey into the mat for the win.

Results: The Good Brothers defeated Chris Bey and Jay White via pinfall on IMPACT Wrestling.

Grade: B

Former IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Tag Champions Fire 'N Flava were backstage, with Kiera Hogan talking about getting a shot at the titles again. Fallah Bahh came up, asking for a partner at Homecoming. Hogan thought he was asking her, but he was talking to Tasha Steelz.

Steelz agreed, and said it was obvious he chose her. After all, she wasn't the one to get pinned at Slammiversary or during the Knockouts Tag Title rematch on IMPACT Wrestling last week.

Kaleb with a K w/Tenille Dashwood vs Taylor Wilde on IMPACT Wrestling

The former IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion pelted Kaleb with a series of kicks before rolling him up for a one-count. He countered a hurricanrana and took out Taylor Wilde with a clothesline.

Wilde caught Kaleb in the ropes, kicking the middle one to split the uprights. She ducked another clothesline and hit a headscissor takedown, followed by some elbows in the corner.

A superkick caught Wilde on the jaw, but she managed to kick out. On the floor, Wilde sent Kaleb into the ring post and followed with a tornado DDT. Tenille Dashwood distracted her long enough to give Kaleb time to recover in the ring.

Wasn't long enough, as Wilde spiked him with a poison rana. A German suplex folded him up like an accordion.

Results: Taylor Wilde defeated Kaleb with a K via pinfall on IMPACT Wrestling.

Grade: C

Chris Bey and Jay White were backstage talking about their loss tonight. Bey said that he didn't expect his first match in Bullet Club to be a loss. White said that he wasn't in Bullet Club yet, and after tonight he wasn't sure if the former IMPACT Wrestling X-Division Champion was worthy of the spot.

However, White was a fan of redemption, and had an idea that could let Bey prove himself and earn a spot in the stable.

IMPACT Wrestling X-Division Champion Josh Alexander wanted to continue proving himself as the greatest champion in the title's history. Scott D'Amore came in to say that he had a great surprise match for him. Since Alexander didn't want a break from competition, he'd face Black Taurus at IMPACT Wrestling Homecoming this Saturday.

Mean Gia Miller was with IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo, asking if her schedule was too loaded. She was now set to appear at NWA EmPowerrr, and had a title vs title match set for TripleMania XXIX against Faby Apache.

Not only was she doing all of this, but she was training with Invicta FC Atomweight Champion Alesha Zappitella. She'd also show up at Homecoming this weekend and had a surprise partner for the tournament. She'd be crowned queen, but who would be king?

Fallah Bahh, No Way, and FinJuice vs Madman Fulton, Ace Austin, Rohit Raju, and Shera on IMPACT Wrestling

Fallah Bahh and Madman Fulton started this one off. After running wild on the heels, Bahh's partners slung him into the big man. Bahh and No Way hit tandem running splashes. However, Raju made the save before he could hit a Samoan Drop.

Shera tagged in, followed by Ace Austin, and Shera slung Austin into Bahh with a big shotgun dropkick. Austin pelted Bahh with forearms, but it only fired him up. David Finlay and Rohit Raju tagged in, and Finlay was on fire. He ran through Raju and took Fulton and Ace out with a flying crossbody. A one-handed pendulum backbreaker cracked Raju's spine.

Shera made the save, but was sent to the floor by a combined effort from FinJuice. Juice Robinson hit Shera with a dive, but Finlay was caught with a swinging fisherman neckbreaker and gourdbuster by Raju. No Way ran in for a pop-up punch that knocked Raju out, but was flattened by Fulton's inverted swinging flatliner.

Bahh was in the ring with Fulton and Austin. Bah countered a diving splash from Fulton with a Samoan Drop, but Austin sent him to the ground. A Fosbury Flop caught everyone on the floor.

Back in the ring, Finlay and Raju, the legal men, finished things up. Finlay spiked Raju with an ushigoroshi for the win.

Results: David Finlay defeated Rohit Raju via pinfall.

The Invisible Hand for IMPACT Wrestling's World Champion answered the door for Gia Miller. Don Callis introduced Kenny Omega to Gia, and Omega thought she was just a fan trying to get something signed. Omega said that everything was turning up Super Elite. That was until Tommy Dreamer showed up.

Dreamer stated that we'd be having a #1 contenders battle royal. The winner will face Omega at IMPACT Wrestling: Resurgence for the IMPACT Wrestling World Title in the main event.

Shortly after we saw another vignette for the Drama King on IMPACT Wrestling, FinJuice were backstage, stating that they would be going after the IMPACT Wrestling Tag Team Titles soon. However, they were attacked by Jay White and Chris Bey. While Bey took out Juice Robinson, White sent David Finlay to the floor and said he couldn't hide from him.

After the beatdown, White told Bey, "that was very good." Has Bey redeemed himself? Is he going to be in Bullet Club after all?

Kenny Omega, The Good Brothers, and Don Callis address the IMPACT Wrestling crowd

IMPACT Wrestling's fans were chanting "You Got Fired" at Don Callis, who said that real men don't quit their job, they get fired. Kenny Omega said that it's 2021, so it should be real men or women don't quit, they get fired.

We got to the main point. Callis bragged about the dominant night the Super Elite had at IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary. The Good Brothers won the tag titles and Kenny Omega left Sami Callihan in a pool of his own blood. Not just that, but the IMPACT Wrestling Tag Champions beat Jay White and Chris Bey tonight.

The Super Elite were on fire, but Kenny Omega was a busy man. That being said, he shouldn't have to defend at Resurgence, regardless of what Tommy Dreamer said. Before they could finish, the lights went out and Sami Callihan appeared.

The Draw was on the stage with a bat in his hand. He said that the men in front of him, minus Callis, were supposed to be tough guys. However, all he saw were, "a bunch of b****es." Callihan said the IMPACT Wrestling World Champion was lucky he didn't beat him to death at Slammiversary. He's not done with him, either.

In two weeks he'll win the #1 contenders battle royal, and Omega will have another date with the Death Machine of IMPACT Wrestling. Still, he didn't want to wait that long. So next week he'll face Omega and the Good Brothers in a six-man tag. The question is, who were Callihan's partners?

Someone jumped the Super Elite from behind and sent them up the ramp. It was IMPACT Wrestling original and former X-Division Champion Frankie Kazarian! The Elite Hunter and AEW star had some unfinished business with Omega and the Good Brothers.

Backstage, Dreamer congratulated them on a job well done. He told them who their third partner would be, and Callihan walked off saying that it would never happen.

We saw former IMPACT Wrestling Women's Champion Su Yung backstage with Kimber Lee behind her. Lee had undergone a Su Yung-like transformation, and said that it was her time.

Brian Myers was trying to find a partner for the IMPACT Wrestling Homecoming Mixed Tag Tournament. He was unaware that they were live, so when he called the Queen of Extreme herself, Francine, she said she knew she wasn't his first choice. Knowing that, she refused to help him out.

Violent By Design (Deaner and Rhino) w/Eric Young and Joe Doering vs Rich Swann and Willie Mack on IMPACT Wrestling

Deaner and Rhino were sent to the floor by Rich Swann and Willie Mack, and Mack followed with a moonsault off the ring post. When we came back from the commercial break, Mack and Swann were in the middle of planting Deaner with a flapjack bulldog combination.

A rolling ax kick rocked Deaner for a two-count. Eric Young distracted him, allowing Deaner to get back in the mix. He left Swann's neck up against the middle turnbuckle and hit a running dropkick, jamming the neck. After that, Rhino tagged in.

The War Machine of IMPACT Wrestling hammered Swann into the mat with big right hands, following with a short-arm clothesline. Deaner tagged in and lost control as per usual in Violent By Design's tag team matches. Willie Mack got in the match and slammed Deaner with the Samoan Drop. The standing moonsault connected for a two-count.

Again, Eric Young distracted VBD's opponent, allowing Deaner to hit a running neckbreaker on Mack. Rhino was in next, and VBD hit a back drop/neckbreaker combo for the two-count. Mack tagged out to Swann as he hit a wrecking ball dropkick on Deaner on the floor.

Swann surprised Rhino with the handspring cutter, earning a two-count. Rhino took Swann to the top, but was knocked off and hit with Mack's stunner. The 450 Splash hit, giving Swann and Mack a great tag team win.

Results: Rich Swann and Willie Mack defeated Violent By Design via pinfall on IMPACT Wrestling.

Grade: B-

If Mack and Swann are looking for the IMPACT Wrestling Tag Titles, a win over former champions Violent By Design could prove to be a great start.

At Swinger's Palace, three more teams were announced for the IMPACT Wrestling Homecoming Tournament. Hernandez and Alisha (Team Swinger's Palace), Matt Cardona and Chelsea Green, and Petey Williams and Jordynne Grace.

W. Morrissey came in with a message for Alisha, though. After his hardcore match with her husband, Eddie Edwards, on Saturday he won't feel safe at home ever again. Lish was upset, and Green told Cardona that the next time they went on a date she was choosing the location.

IMPACT Wrestling's heart Eddie Edwards was with Mean Gia Miller. He said that he has been through worse than whatever W. Morrissey could do to him in a match. He wasn't worried about the big man. Hell, he'd gone through Sami Callihan and his Louisville Slugger before.

Speaking of which, Tommy Dreamer came up to Edwards to ask for a favor. Calihan and Frankie Kazarian needed a tag team partner to take on The Elite. For the greater good of IMPACT Wrestling, Dreamer was asking Edwards to join them against Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers.

Edwards said he didn't trust Callihan, but he trusted Dreamer. He'd do it.

Moose vs Chris Sabin on IMPACT Wrestling

Chris Sabin caught Moose's boot, going for the dragon screw. Sabin looked to implement the plan he used at Slammiversary, taking out Moose's legs and going for quick pinfall attempts.

Moose broke out of several roll-ups, but was locked in a Figure-4 Leglock. Moose escaped to the floor where he slung Sabin into the steel steps like a ragdoll. Back in the ring, Moose hammered Sabin with some hellacious blows, including a high leaping dropkick that nearly sent Sabin's head into the third row.

Moose launched Sabin across the ring to the other corner with a choke toss. He followed with some chops to Sabin's chest that could've caved it in. The sound echoed throughout the IMPACT Wrestling crowd, who were begging for another one. Moose instead went for a nose wrench to tick them off.

Sabin responded by biting his thumb and firing up on the former TNA World Champion. He ducked a chop that hit the post, followed by an apron kick and springboard crossbody.

A superkick and spinning back kick to the jaw left Moose in a daze in the ring. Sabin moved up top, but Moose followed for the top rope moonsault slam. Sabin bit his nose, sending him to the mat for a flying tornado DDT. Moose just barely kicked out in this spectacular IMPACT Wrestling main event.

Moose escaped the Cradle Shock by raking the eyes and cut Sabin in half with the Lights Out, finally putting Sabin down.

Results: Moose defeated Chris Sabin via pinfall on IMPACT Wrestling.

Grade: A

Moose picked Sabin up and dumped him to the floor. However, when Moose turned around, Sabin was back on the turnbuckle. A flying crossbody took Moose down, forcing the big man to escape to the floor.

Sabin followed with a suicide dive before they were broken up by IMPACT Wrestling security.
