Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning addressed the recent comments made by his grandfather, Archie Manning. Even though Manning only made spot appearances last season, many NFL mock drafts have projected him as a first-round pick. However, Archie told Texas Monthly last week that his grandson would not leave Texas after the end of the 2025 season."Arch isn't going to do that. He'll be at Texas."During a media session on Tuesday, Arch was asked about his grandfather's comments."Yeah, I don't know where he got that from," Arch said. "He texted me and apologized about that. I'm really just taking it day by day, right now."Archie also cleared the air around the situation. "I thought that the thing that I said was that to name Arch to postseason awards and start placing him in the NFL draft was ridiculous when he hadn't played," Archie told ESPN. "But then, of course, then the fact I said that he might be at Texas, that's just an assumption on my part."The younger Manning is expected to be the Longhorns' starter this season after redshirting in 2023 and playing as a backup to Quinn Ewers last year.
