UConn’s Dan Hurley pays tribute to Duke legend Coach K while sharing his new venture: “Has been like family for a long time!”

Everyone in the college basketball world knows the value Mike Krzyzewski holds in the sport. The Duke legend has earned the respect and admiration of his peers through his values, dedication and passion for the game. UConn Huskies coach Dan Hurley is a big admirer of Krzyzewski.

While promoting his new book “Never Stop: Life, Leadership, and What It Takes to Be Great,” Hurley said it would include a life-changing piece of advice he received from Krzyzewski.

"Coach K has been like family for a long time," Hurley wrote on Instagram. "Years ago, he gave me a piece of advice that changed my life. It’s part of my story in ’Never Stop,’ out next month. Preorder at the link in my bio!"

Hurley also included a review of the book from Krzyzewski.

"Dan Hurley emerged from one of the finest leadership families our sport has known, so it is no surprise that he set a standard at UConn that few coaches have ever matched. His players respond with championship effort because they know how much he genuinely cares about them."

Dan Hurley hoping to bounce back after disappointing 2024 season with UConn

Dan Hurley has had his fair share of success as UConn coach. Since taking the reins in 2018, Hurley has led the team to 165 wins, including back-to-back national championships in 2023 and 2024.

After a lacklustre 2024 season that culminated in a Round of 32 exit from the NCAA Tournament, Hurley is determined to bounce back.

Following the departure of Liam McNeeley and Aiden Mahaney, among others, Hurley has strengthened his squad with six new players -- 3 transfers and 3 freshmen -- as he eyes his third NCAA title.

UConn will tip off its season on Nov. 3 against the New Haven Chargers.
