Nikola Jokic made a stunning behind-the-back pass during the opening stages of Serbia's EuroBasket 2025 opener against Estonia to take a 5-0 lead. Fans on social media responded to the stellar move from the Denver Nuggets center. One fan on X wrote that the pass seemed to defy the laws of physics.

Jokic recorded 23 points, 19 rebounds and four assists, leading Serbia to a 76–66 win against Greece on Aug. 9 as part of their preparations for the tournament. Serbia went undefeated in their EuroBasket preparation slate (6–0), averaging 101.2 points per game.

Serbia enters EuroBasket 2025 as the clear favorites, with Jokic serving as the cornerstone, alongside Bogdan Bogdanović and Nikola Jović.

With the clock at the 8 minute mark, Jokic received a pass from teammate Aleksa Avramovic. He posted up the opposing defender and out of nowhere he found a teammate on the corner for an open 3 point shot, who unfortunately missed.

Nikola Jokic leads Serbia to opening win at 2025 EuroBasket

Nikola Jokic and Serbia delivered a statement performance in their 2025 EuroBasket opener. They won Estonia with a commanding 98–64 victory. The 34-point margin stands as one of the largest margins in EuroBasket history this century. It is also the biggest ever for Serbia in the tournament.

The game saw Serbia establish control early with a blistering start. They went on a 9–0 run and by halftime, they had already built a massive 56–29 lead. They hit 61% from the field and an efficient 44% from 3-point range. Serbia also dished out 32 assists, which tied their own single-game record set back in EuroBasket 2015. Nikola Jokić narrowly missed out on a triple-double.

He finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. Teammate Nikola Jović led all scorers with 18 points in under 16 minutes. Tristan Vukčević also made an impact off the bench, as he added nine points and seven rebounds in 21 minutes.
