Basketball insider says Giannis Antetokounmpo's presence makes Greece a 'dark horse' in EuroBasket

Giannis Antetokounmpo's Greece is ranked No. 13 in FIBA's global rankings. Basketball insider Rohan Brahmbhatt of ClutchPoints wrote on Tuesday that Greece enters the EuroBasket 2025 with "tempered expectations."

Brahmbhatt did not predict that Greece would win the EuroBasket 2025. However, he said Giannis Antetokounmpo's presence could give the continental powerhouses a run for their money.

Last NBA season, Antetokounmpo averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists on 60.1% shooting.

Greece was drawn into Group C alongside Spain, Italy, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Georgia and host Cyprus. Spain, the world No. 5, is the favorite to top the group. Brahmbhatt added that if Greece finishes in the top 3 in the group stage, they will likely have a favorable opponent in the next round.
