The 2024 NBA All-Star Game between the East and West was the highlight of the league this weekend. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Eastern Conference stars while LeBron James was at the helm of the Western Conference. As the matchup was held at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, the home of the Pacers, the East had home home-court advantage.Tyrese Haliburton, the Pacers’ superstar point guard, opened the hostilities with a barrage of points in the first 1:32 seconds of the game. He went 5-for-5 from deep for 15 points to push the East to a 53-47 first-quarter lead. Kevin Durant and Karl-Anthony Towns kept the West in striking distance, though. After Haliburton’s explosion, it was Damian Lillard who erupted for the East in the 2024 NBA All-Star Game. He had 18 second-quarter points to allow his team to carry a 104-89 halftime lead. The 192 points combined after one half is the most in the event’s history. The West came out more aggressive in the third quarter but the East didn't let up. Boston Celtics teammates Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum added to the barrage of points. Lillard stayed hot while the others stepped up.Karl-Anthony Towns showed his determination to carry the West in the 2024 NBA All-Star Game. The Minnesota Timberwolves center and OKC Thunder point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander carried the scoring burden for their team.In the end, Towns finished with a game-high 50 points on 23-for-35 shooting but couldn't drag the West to the win. The East had too much going on for them and handily won 211-186.Sunday's NBA All-Star Game broke several records. The 397 points combined was the most since 2017 when the East and West combined for 374. The East's 211 was also the first time the 200-point mark was breached by any team in any game in league history.2024 NBA All-Star Game East vs West Player stats and box scoresWestern Conference All-Stars stats and box scoreLeBron James, Luka Doncic, Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard and Anthony Edwards failed to score at least 10 points.
