Trailing the Orioles 3-1 in the series decider, the Red Sox had a chance to claw back into the game with the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth inning. However, Duran struck out on three pitches from Rico Garcia.

As he walked back to the dugout, Duran lashed out at a fan and was allegedly seen saying:

"F*** you pu**y."

Duran joined J.P. Ricciardi and Janet Marie Smith to receive the honor this year. WooSox manager Chad Tracy addressed the public on Duran's behalf as the Red Sox outfielder has been with the team in New York.

"I’ve watched as all the physical skills, that we all had the privilege of watching here in Worcester, finally translate over to a major league field for everyone else to watch and be able to enjoy,” Tracy said. “He really is a joy to watch play the game of baseball and it’s my privilege and honor to make this speech on his behalf, and to welcome him into the Hall of Fame.”

The All-Star outfielder spent parts of three seasons with the minor league team from 2021 to 2023, playing 139 games with 28 home runs, 80 RBIs and 36 stolen bases.
