Stephen Guy Vogt is the second youngest manager in Major League Baseball (MLB) as of 2023. A former MLB player and a two-time MLB All-Star, he has taken the charge of the Cleveland Guardians as their new manager in 2024.

As a player, Vogt began his MLB baseball career with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2012 and ended it the Oakland Athletics in his second tenure in 2022. In between, he also played for Oakland Athletics (2013-17), Milwaukee Brewers (2017), San Francisco Giants (2019), Arizona Diamondbacks (2020-21) and Atlanta Braves (2021) with whom he won the World Series the same year. After retiring, he spent the 2023 season as the Seattle Mariners’ quality control coach as well as bullpen coach. He started his present role as manager of the Cleveland Guardians from the 2024 season.

Interestingly, one day after her senior season, they returned to her apartment for doing homework together where she found that Vogt and his friends had decorated the room with rose petals and tealight candles. It was then that he proposed to her and she accepted. Their romance culminated in them finally getting married in 2010.

“Stephen’s career is my career, his life is my life, and our family is my career,” said Alyssa. “There’s no other job I’d want to do right now.” She said in an 2014 interview which is listed at the Azusa Pacific University Articles page.
