The Winter is Coming special episode of Dynamite may just be one of the most newsworthy AEW episodes of all time, so far. December is usually regarded as the period where fans get to witness the calm before the storm in the pro wrestling world. But AEW has kicked-off their programming this month in the best way possible.

#5: Thunder Rosa attacked Dr. Britt Baker in a post-match brawl on AEW Dynamite

Dr. Britt Baker faced Leyla Hirsch in a one-on-one match on the Winter is Coming-themed episode of AEW Dynamite.

As expected, Britt picked up a victory over Leyla with a Lockjaw submission. It was after the match where Thunder Rosa entered the scene and jumped Britt Baker to continue their ongoing feud.

In the middle of this chaos, Leyla Hirsch hit Rebel with a suplex as well. Several referees had to separate Baker and Rosa from brawling with each other.

While Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker's feud is the main story here, Leyla attacking Rebel indicates that she may team up with Rosa to take on Rebel and Baker in a tag team match sooner rather than later.

It is good to see that AEW has recently established a few non-title women's feuds, including Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker's rivalry. Britt Baker has stood out in terms of character over the past few months, while Thunder Rosa has gained a lot of steam ever since she first appeared on Dynamite.

So their rivalry is something that could help a lot in terms of making the AEW women's division a more relevant topic.

#4: MJF and Orange Cassidy won the AEW Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royal

The AEW Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royal featured several subplots.

Dark Order members prevented Hangman Page from getting eliminated the first time around, and it's clear at this point that they want Page to join their faction.

After Shawn Spears got eliminated, he used a steel spike on Scorpio Sky from the outside. Scorpio Sky was eliminated soon after as a result.

Miro looked like a beast with four straight eliminations, but he was eventually eliminated from the match by the Inner Circle. As for the Inner Circle, a major plot point occurred when MJF pushed both Jungle Boy and Sammy Guevara from the top, thereby effectively eliminating both of them.

MJF pretended that it was all unintentional, but it became evident that this spot was booked to create more dissension between MJF and Guevara of the Inner Circle.

MJF, Wardlow, and Orange Cassidy were the only participants left towards the end. Cassidy managed to eliminate Wardlow to win the match alongside MJF. This means that both Orange Cassidy and MJF will wrestle on next week's AEW Dynamite in a one-on-one match to determine the Dynamite Diamond Ring winner.

It would have been an interesting scenario if MJF and Wardlow were pitted against each other next week. But it looks like AEW management wants to save that potential confrontation for later.

#3: The Inner Circle will no longer exist after seven days if its members don't manage to co-exist together on AEW Dynamite

Chris Jericho wrestled Frankie Kazarian on this week's edition of AEW Dynamite.

During the course of the match, The Inner Circle's inner-conflict was also showcased on live television.

When Kazarian had Jericho locked in the Boston Crab submission, MJF arrived to potentially throw in the towel, which wasn't met with total agreement by other members of The Inner Circle.

Thanks to the earlier sequence between MJF and Sammy Guevara in the Battle Royal, Guevara arrived to prevent MJF from throwing in the towel on AEW Dynamite.

Eventually, Jericho was able to defeat Kazarian. But Le Champion was clearly unhappy with the growing issues in The Inner Circle.

This is why he gave everyone a week to resolve their issues; otherwise, the Inner Circle faction will be disbanded via Jericho's command on AEW Dynamite.

It's unlikely that the faction will split apart so soon after Wardlow and MJF's inclusion in the Inner Circle. If MJF has an ulterior motive of splitting apart The Inner Circle from the inside, then his character has done a great job so far.

Santana and Ortiz are non-factors here, as the main beef seems to exist between MJF and Sammy Guevara, and between Wardlow and Jake Hager as well.

#2: Jon Moxley lost the AEW World Championship to Kenny Omega thanks to the involvement of Don Callis; Omega to appear on IMPACT Wrestling in a huge crossover next week

Kenny Omega and Don Callis go way back in the pro wrestling business. For those unaware, Callis is the Executive Vice President of IMPACT Wrestling, and he was invited by Omega to join commentary on AEW Dynamite this week.

What fans didn't expect was that Don's appearance on this week's AEW Dynamite was also a ploy to set up a huge potential crossover between AEW and IMPACT Wrestling.

Towards the end of Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega's main event match, Omega looked seriously injured. Callis left the commentary booth to check on Omega and to declare that the match should be stopped as a result.

These shenanigans allowed Omega to bust Moxley's head open with the microphone. It was Kenny Omega's game after that point as he managed to defeat Jon Moxley to become the new AEW World Champion.

Omega and Callis fleed the arena, and their escape was documented and choreographed perfectly. On the way out, Callis said that Omega would explain his actions on IMPACT Wrestling next Tuesday.

The narrative of how Don Callis set up an ambush opens up several possibilities as to the future of AEW Dynamite. It also encourages fans to tune in to IMPACT Wrestling next week, which goes on to show how inclusive AEW has been in the pro wrestling industry so far.

#1: WWE Hall of Famer Sting debuted on AEW Dynamite to give one of the biggest surprises of 2020

Sting defeated Ric Flair in the final wrestling match to be shown on TNT for more than 18 years until the debut of AEW Dynaitme in 2019. So it's only fitting that almost two decades later, Sting would make pro wrestling history once again on TNT by showing up on the Winter is Coming special episode of AEW Dynamite.

Cody Rhodes and Darby Allin defeated Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs of Team Taz on this week's AEW Dynamite. A brawl broke out between all participants after the match was over. Even Arn Anderson and Dustin Rhodes got involved, but Team Taz stood defiant for the most part.

As Hobbs was about to attack Cody with the FTW title belt, the lights went out on AEW Dynamite, and Sting appeared on Tony Khan's promotion for the first time ever.

Sting was able to scare off the heels, and he stared down the babyfaces before leaving the ring, surrounded by snow. Sting is now All Elite, and his character remains a larger-than-life persona even to this day.

Larger-than-life personas are exactly what AEW needed to add to their arsenal of characters. And after witnessing one of the most shocking pro wrestling moments of 2020, fans can't wait to see which dream encounters will occur in the next few weeks.
