5 things you didn't know about AEW star Adam Cole

Since his debut in an all-time great moment that also involved the debut of Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole has been presented as the cream of the crop in AEW. Cole has rejoined his The Elite buddies and is currently undefeated in both singles and tag team matches in the company.

Before joining AEW, he was part of one of the greatest modern factions in WWE, The Undisputed Era. Cole, alongside Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly, and Roderick Strong, dominated the company's black-and-gold brand, becoming the longest-reigning WWE NXT Champion in the process.

#5 Xavier Woods, Cesaro, and Tyler Breeze pushed the current AEW star into streaming

Adam Cole is a well-known Twitch streamer, earning a fair amount of extra money while having fun interacting with fans. Britt Baker bought Cole streaming gear one Christmas.

Cole spent a lot of time by himself during the pandemic. UpUpDownDown host Woods explained to him the ways of the streaming world, and fellow DaParty gaming buddies, Cesaro and Tyler Breeze, brought more excitement to his mind.

Cole used to stream once every week but presently is a regular, streaming up to five times a week.

#4 "Adam Cole Bay Bay" originated from Joey Mercury and Chris Jericho

An unmissable sight of modern-day pro-wrestling, the current AEW Star raises his hands and shouts "Adam Cole Bay Bay" amidst a chorus of spectators. However, he has not received a similar reaction for the majority of a decade since debuting the chant.

The idea came from Joey Mercury, who used to shout his independent ring name every minute or so during his matches, and a heel Chris Jericho, who stood on his opponent's chest and taunted them with phrases such as "come on bay bay."

A young Adam Cole decided to combine the two methods and, although the audience did not catch on for a long time, he persevered.

#3 The Current AEW star is a staunch self-critic

Cole is fond of dissecting his in-ring work. Speaking to Lilian Garcia, he mentioned that he never had a perfect match. Many fans would understandably disagree with Cole's opinion.

The former NXT Champion has participated in multiple outstanding matches, including one against Johnny Gargano. While fans and critics loved the match, Cole found at least ten aspects he didn't like and thought could've been better.

Adam Cole is enjoying in AEW, but his NXT run is legendary. He won all the titles there is to win in NXT and became a Triple Crown Champion. He was part of the most dominant faction in the brand's history and managed to escape WWE before reaching the main roster.

However, it was not his first experience with WWE. As an independent wrestler, Cole made a cameo appearance before signing with the company in 2017.

Adam Cole's previously mentioned appearance as a WWE extra was an apology and consolation for a huge mistake on the company's part. They mistakenly invited him to a tryout in apparent confusion over names.

Adam Cole's real name is Austin Jenkins. WWE wanted Austin Watson, or Consequences Creed, who is now well-known as Xavier Woods. Of course, both went on to become notable content producers and part of important factions in WWE.

Cole commented that he mentioned the story to Woods when he was finally signed by WWE. The AEW and WWE Stars are good friends, and the story invariably leads to a good laugh.
